Summary: The role of Workday Project Manager involves leading and delivering key functional workstreams in a complex Workday programme, particularly focusing on divestiture-based setups. The successful candidate will coordinate with internal stakeholders and external Workday partners to ensure seamless execution across various areas of HCM. This position requires a strong functional knowledge of Core HCM, Employee Lifecycle, Talent, Payroll, Integrations, and Security. The contract is remote and spans six months, starting ASAP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the delivery of functional Workday HCM workstreams within a divestiture or separation context.
- Coordinate across the full employee lifecycle, including hire-to-retire processes, onboarding, workforce changes, and exits.
- Lead functional delivery across: Core HCM, Talent Management, Payroll configuration and handoffs, HCM Security roles and access, Integration alignment (functional oversight).
- Manage and align delivery with third-party Workday partners, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Work closely with internal HR, IT, and programme teams to gather requirements, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure readiness for cutover, testing (UAT), and deployment of functional elements.
- Support business process configuration, testing, training, and documentation across HCM modules.
- Maintain delivery control using best practices from Agile methodologies and formal project governance.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Workday Project Manager, with a focus on HCM functional delivery.
- Strong knowledge across key Workday functional areas, including: Core HCM, Employee lifecycle processes, Talent Management, Payroll coordination, HCM Security, Functional input to integrations.
- Divestiture experience is essential, ideally involving carve-outs or business unit separations within a Workday environment.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage third-party Workday delivery partners.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, requirement gathering, and cross-functional communication.
- Experience with Agile delivery in enterprise-scale HRIS programmes.
