Summary: The role of Workday Payroll Lead / Consultant focuses on supporting a Phase 2 implementation for Access Group, primarily dealing with US Payroll. Candidates must be Workday-certified in Payroll and have Launch experience, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective payroll configurations and integrations. A similar position is available for those with Canadian Payroll experience. The role is remote or based in New Jersey, classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Workday US Payroll configuration, testing, and implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on US benefits and payroll-impacting integrations.
- Configure payroll components including pay groups, run categories, costing, GL, period schedules, and tax requirements.
- Support payroll processing activities including retro, off-cycle, involuntary withholding, and audit reporting.
- Drive setup and validation of payroll data conversion elements.
- Provide expertise on Time & Absence where required, especially in relation to payroll.
- Participate in Launch methodology planning and execution.
Key Skills:
- Workday Payroll Certified (Active)
- Workday Launch Experience Mandatory
- Experience with Time & Absence (Workday Certified preferred).
- Strong hands-on experience with Workday Payroll configuration in areas such as:
- Payment elections, rules, banking setup
- Payslip/check layouts
- Costing and GL setup
- Pay components, accumulations, balances
- Involuntary withholding orders
- Audit and Payroll Command Center
- Tax configuration (federal, state, local), ACA, W-2
- Period schedules & FLSA rules
- Prior experience working on Kainos-led implementations is a strong plus.

The role will primarily focus on US Payroll, including liaison with benefits and integration teams to ensure payroll-impacting integrations are properly designed and executed.
A similar opening is also available for candidates experienced with Canadian Payroll, requiring active Canadian payroll certification.
