Summary: The Servicenow Developer role is a fully remote position focused on translating business objectives into technical specifications, modernizing legacy processes, and developing custom scoped applications. The candidate will be responsible for creating workflows, optimizing business logic, and ensuring high-quality scripting and code integrity. This position requires collaboration with stakeholders and adherence to best practices in user experience design. The role is expected to last for a minimum of 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Convert high-level business objectives into actionable technical specifications.
- Evaluate "lift and shift" requirements to re-architect legacy processes using modern best practices.
- Identify when stakeholder clarification is required and design intuitive UX guardrails to ensure data integrity.
- Develop within custom scoped applications, managing cross-scope permissions, ACLs, and application repositories.
- Design and maintain Record Producers and Requested Items in a scoped environment including audiences, form layout, and catalog UI policies/scripting.
- Build sophisticated Form Views, View Rules, Client Scripts, Notifications, and UI policies for records.
- Create complex flows including conditional logic, loops, sub-flows, and/or custom actions.
- Implement the appropriate mix of Client Scripts, Business Rules, UI Policies, and UI Actions to ensure seamless record processing.
- Utilize robust JavaScript skills to build Script Includes and leverage Glide AJAX for efficient client-server communication.
- Distinguish between "low-code" and "pro-code" needs; harden logic against exceptions and conduct rigorous unit testing.
- Actively participate in peer code reviews to maintain high development standards.
