Summary: The SAP MDG Technical Consultant role involves analyzing business requirements related to master data domains and translating them into technical specifications. The consultant will design and implement SAP MDG solutions, develop data models, and integrate MDG with various SAP applications. Additionally, responsibilities include performing testing, troubleshooting, and providing production support. The position requires strong hands-on experience in SAP MDG implementation and configuration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze business requirements related to master data domains and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design and implement SAP MDG solutions including data models, replication models, UI configurations, BRFplus rules, workflow, and change request processing.
- Develop and configure Data Models, Business Rule Framework plus (BRF+), UI/GENIL/MDG Web Dynpro/custom FPM, and MDG data replication (ALE/IDoc, SLT, BAPIs).
- Implement extensions and enhancements via user exits, BADIs, enhancement spots, BAdIs, and custom ABAP development (reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms).
- Configure and customize MDG Hub and Consolidation scenarios, including data validation, matching & merging (MDG Consolidation / Data Quality Management).
- Integrate MDG with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP PI/PO, CPI, and third-party applications; implement data replication and synchronization mechanisms.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and provide production support and incident resolution.
- Create technical design documents, development specifications.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP MDG implementation and configuration (MDG on ECC and/or MDG on S/4HANA).
- Proficient in ABAP programming, including OO ABAP, classes, function modules, BAPIs, IDocs, RFCs, enhancements, and user exits.
- Experience with MDG-specific technologies: UI (GENIL, Web Dynpro, FPM), BRFplus, Business Rule Framework, Data Modeler, and MDG data replication/configuration.
- Knowledge of S/4HANA data model differences and MDG on S/4HANA specifics (UI adaptations, CDS views, OData services).
- Experience integrating SAP MDG with PI/PO or CPI, and using ALE/IDoc, SOAP/REST/ODATA interfaces.
- Familiarity with data quality, master data consolidation, matching & merging concepts and tools.
- Experience with SAP workflow configuration and workflow debugging.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and performance tuning capabilities.
