Summary: The Network Architect role involves designing and producing comprehensive solution architectures for network systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with security standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops to capture and translate business, operational, and technical requirements into clear documentation.
  • Establish and agree on the scope of the engagement, including deliverables, ownership, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
  • Design and produce end-to-end solution architectures covering network topology, technology selection, integrations, and security controls.
  • Create detailed technical designs suitable for implementation, including configuration standards and deployment procedures.
  • Review and validate solutions to ensure compliance with architectural governance and operational readiness requirements.

Key Skills:

  • Current and active UK Security Clearance (SC).
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Network Architect or in a Solution Design Authority function.
  • Strong networking background with Cisco certifications, ideally CCIE or CCNP equivalent.
  • Experience producing, reviewing, and governing High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise LAN/WAN environments and modern SD-WAN technologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Network Architect - Role & Responsibilities

  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops to capture and translate business, operational, and technical requirements into clear, traceable documentation covering assumptions, dependencies, constraints, and associated risks.
  • Establish and agree the scope of the engagement, including deliverables, ownership, milestones, acceptance criteria, and key design considerations for the overall solution architecture.
  • Design and produce end-to-end solution architectures covering network topology, technology selection, integrations, security controls, resilience, scalability, and architectural principles aligned to customer and business objectives.
  • Create detailed technical designs suitable for implementation, including configuration standards, routing strategies, IP addressing schemes, security policies, hardware specifications, and deployment procedures.
  • Review and validate solutions to ensure compliance with architectural governance, security standards, regulatory obligations, and operational readiness requirements, ensuring all risks, exceptions, and deviations are appropriately documented and approved.

Network Architect - Required Experience

  • Current and active UK Security Clearance (SC) is essential.
  • Minimum of five years’ proven experience working as a Network Architect or within a Solution Design Authority function.
  • Strong networking background supported by Cisco certifications, ideally CCIE (Enterprise Infrastructure or Security) or CCNP equivalent.
  • Extensive experience producing, reviewing, and governing both High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience designing enterprise LAN/WAN environments, including modern SD-WAN technologies and architectures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, including customers and senior stakeholders.
