Summary: The role involves two experienced Application Developers who will work remotely to support Public Sector programmes by developing scalable and secure application solutions using Python and SQL. Candidates must have strong commercial experience in Python development, API design, and containerisation with Docker, along with active SC Clearance. The position requires collaboration with distributed teams and adherence to best practices in code quality and security. Only UK residents with a UK Passport will be considered for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain application services using Python.
- Develop and optimise SQL-based data interactions.
- Build and consume APIs using modern integration platforms (WebMethods, Kong).
- Work with JSON-based data structures and message formats.
- Deploy and manage containerised applications using Docker.
- Contribute to cloud-based solutions hosted on Microsoft Azure.
- Ensure code quality, security, and performance best practices are followed.
- Collaborate with distributed delivery teams in a Public Sector environment.
Key Skills:
- Strong commercial experience with Python development.
- Solid SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.
- API design and development experience.
- Hands-on experience with WebMethods and/or Kong.
- Experience building and deploying containerised solutions using Docker.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services.
- Experience working on secure or Public Sector programmes.
- Active SC Clearance.
