Summary: The Senior QA Automation Engineer role involves delivering high-quality automated testing for a leading financial services organization. The position requires hands-on execution of automation scripts, validation of complex data flows, and testing of RESTful APIs. The engineer will also mentor other QA engineers and integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines. This is a 6-month contract based in London with hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and execute automation frameworks for web, API, and data validation testing within wealth management and trading systems
- Perform functional, regression, performance, and integration testing for complex financial applications
- Test RESTful APIs using tools such as Postman or RestAssured
- Validate data and perform back-end testing using SQL
- Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent tools
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to troubleshoot issues and ensure high-quality releases
- Mentor and support other QA engineers in automation best practices
Key Skills:
- 7+ years’ experience in QA engineering within financial services or other complex enterprise environments
- Strong Python scripting skills for automation
- Experience with Avaloq (desirable)
- Hands-on experience testing RESTful APIs and performing data validation
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and Agile methodologies
- Strong SQL skills and experience with back-end testing
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
