Summary: We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to join a high-impact digital programme within the NHS, focusing on building scalable, user-centric web applications. The role involves working in a cross-functional agile team to design, develop, and deploy modern front-end solutions that enhance healthcare services and patient outcomes. The position requires strong expertise in React and TypeScript, along with experience in the healthcare sector. The contract is set to last until the end of March 2027, with a requirement for occasional onsite presence in Leeds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain responsive, high-quality front-end applications using React and TypeScript
- Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and product teams to deliver seamless user experiences
- Integrate front-end components with AWS-hosted services and APIs
- Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and best practices
- Contribute to architectural decisions and continuous improvement of the front-end stack
- Work within an agile environment, participating in ceremonies and sprint planning
Key Skills:
- Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript
- Experience working with AWS services (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront)
- Proven experience delivering projects within the NHS or wider healthcare sector (must-have)
- Solid understanding of modern front-end architecture and best practices
- Experience working in agile delivery teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Familiarity with NHS digital standards and governance
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
