Summary: The Charging Features Verification Engineer role is integral to the Charging Systems Delivery Group, focusing on the verification and validation of various charging systems and components. This position involves collaboration with multiple teams to ensure compliance with standards and effective problem resolution. The engineer will execute validation activities, develop test plans, and analyze data to identify issues within EV charging systems. A hands-on approach and strong analytical skills are essential for success in this dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute validation and verification activities for Charging Systems, DC-DC converter, On-Board charger, and various charger types.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements.
  • Conduct vehicle-level Charging systems SW release tests for multiple teams/programs.
  • Perform functional, performance, and robustness testing on EV charging systems.
  • Capture logs, analyze data, and identify root causes of charging failures or communication issues.
  • Verify SIMS/AIMS/BUGS issue fixes on vehicle/labcar/Vehicle In loop.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve defects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO 15118, IEC 61851, DIN 70121, ISO26262).
  • Prepare detailed test reports and present findings to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of validation processes and procedures.

Key Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with EV charging systems, power electronics, or vehicle HV/electrical systems.
  • Validation & Verification experience preferably within the Automotive industry.
  • Working knowledge of power electronics HW & SW life cycle process.
  • Knowledge of Automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and Vector tools.
  • Strong knowledge of HV safety procedures and risk assessments.
  • Vehicle-Level Diagnostics & Fault Analysis and triaging.

The Role

This role is for Charging Features Verification Engineer role sits within the Charging Systems Delivery Group. As a Charging Features Verification Engineer, you'll be an integral part of Charging Systems V&V Chapter, working within the dynamic Charging Systems Verification & Validation Group. Your role will be pivotal as the point of contact for verifying Charging Features, collaborating with various teams including Charging Product squads, Propulsion Product Groups, Body & Digital Product Platform team and Central System Integration team.

Your responsibilities: (Up to 10, Avoid repetition)

  • Execute validation and verification activities for Charging Systems, DC-DC converter, On-Board charger (AC and DC charging systems), Charger types (CCS, CHAdeMO, Type-2, GB/T, NACS, Type-1) & BMS systems.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements
  • Conduct vehicle-level Charging systems SW release tests for multiple teams/programs.
  • Conduct vehicle-level testing using real EVSE, charging emulators, power analyzers, and diagnostic tools.
  • Perform functional, performance, and robustness testing on EV charging systems.
  • Capture logs, analyze data, and identify root causes of charging failures or communication issues.
  • Verify SIMS/AIMS/BUGS issue fixes on vehicle/labcar/Vehicle In loop
  • Work with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, systems, diagnostics) to resolve defects.

Your Profile

Hands-on experience with EV charging systems, power electronics, or vehicle HV/electrical systems and high voltage systems 400/800V Validation & Verification experience preferably within the Automotive industry Working Knowledge on power electronics HW & SW life cycle process. Working Knowledge on Automotive communication protocols CAN, LIN, Ethernet andVector tools like CANoe / CANalyser, PLC logging, ETAS INCA, Wireshark, MDA, UDS Diagnostics, DOIP Strong knowledge of HV safety procedures and risk assessments (Desirable HV Authorized Person or Senior Authorized Person Trained) Vehicle-Level Diagnostics & Fault Analysis and triaging, stakeholder management on progressing on defects Working Knowledge of ISO15118, DIN70121, IEC61851 charging standards and functional safety ISO26262 Experience with charging protocols such as CCS (Combo), NACS, CHAdeMO, GB/T, Type2, Type1 Vehicle preparation with necessary software and hardware intended for testing Work and coordinate with workshop or instrumentation team for hardware change and special instrumentation, wirings for validation for CAN, Ethernet, Data Logger, ECU hardware replacement Experience with test equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, EVSE charging simulators Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system/sub-system requirements. Experience working in an agile environment & tools. Car Driving License Holder (Desirable: Class 2 / Class 3 Permit holder, UK Driving License) Desirable skills/knowledge/experience: Willing to do it and can go anywhere with an attitude.
