Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer involves defining and implementing a cloud security framework while developing innovative security solutions aligned with the overall cloud strategy. The position requires expertise in DevOps practices and GitLab CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure and efficient delivery. The engineer will also mentor the team, lead decision-making, and conduct training sessions to enhance knowledge of cloud security and DevOps best practices. This position is based in Newcastle and requires SC clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the cloud security framework and architecture to meet business and performance goals.
- Develop innovative security solutions that align with the overall cloud strategy.
- Document cloud security controls and oversee the transition to managed cloud security operations.
- Apply expert proficiency in DevOps practices to streamline deployment, monitoring, and operations.
- Utilize advanced proficiency in GitLab CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure and efficient delivery.
- Leverage strong knowledge of Git to support collaborative and secure development workflows.
- Act as a subject matter expert, guiding and mentoring the team to perform effectively.
- Lead team decision-making, engage with multiple teams, and contribute to key organizational initiatives.
- Provide solutions to complex problems for both your immediate team and cross-functional groups.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance team knowledge of cloud security and DevOps best practices.
- Conduct regular assessments of cloud security controls to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security seamlessly into the development lifecycle.
- Stay current with emerging cloud security trends, DevOps tools, and technologies to continuously evolve the framework.
