Summary: The Network Engineer role involves providing network administration and support in a mission-critical environment for a leading global IT services supplier. The position is hybrid, allowing remote work in the UK with occasional office attendance in Leamington Spa, Gaydon, Solihull, or Coventry. This temporary contract is set for over six months and requires immediate availability. The role demands a strong background in network projects, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Administration, and support of Wider Network environment in a mission critical and highly available environment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in Network IT Landscape
- System technical documentation for existing and new builds/configuration
- Requirements gathering from customer
- Co-ordination with vendors like cabling, ISP etc
Key Skills:
- The resource should have implemented at least 4-5 projects in customer live environment. Experience with Network refresh/upgrade projects
- Should be able to create HLD & LLD documents and should be able to draw architecture as per customer needs
- Should have hands Firewall & Security Technologies (Pulse Secure SSL VPN, Cisco ASA VPN, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, VMware NSX)
- Working knowledge of authentication systems such as SAML, SSO, LDAP and MS Active Directory
- Deep understanding of IPSEC, GRE, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS protocols
- Experience with Proxy and SSL is essential.
- Understanding of cybersecurity technologies, protocols and applications.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Visio is must.
- Network LAN/WAN knowledge and hands on experience
- Troubleshooting skills for Cisco Environment in quick time (Nexus Switches (1000v, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, and 9k), Cisco Enterprise Routers 3900, 3800 & LAN Switches 3700, 3500, 2900 series) and CAT OS.
- Knowledge of Firewalls particularly Cisco ASA
- Knowledge of BIGIP F5 Load-Balancers
- Knowledge of Wireless technology WLCs, autonomous and lightweight APs.
- Perform network modelling, analysis, and planning.
- Installation of hardware as required
- Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
- Upgrade network hardware and software components as required
- Cisco Routing and Switching environment LAN & WAN.
- Knowledge of network Sniffer for capturing logs (Wireshark/Ethereal/Solar-wind or any other equivalent).

Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires Network Engineer to be based at their client's office in either Leamington Spa/Gaydon/Solihull/Coventry.
This is a hybrid role - you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Leamington Spa/Gaydon/Solihull/Coventry office 1-2 days per week.
This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start ASAP

Special Working Conditions
- The role may require some level of on-call/weekend support depending on project's schedule. Any such extended or weekend support to be communicated well in advance
