Summary: My client in the professional services sector is seeking an AI Engineer to join their team for a 6-month hybrid role based in London. The position requires expertise in AI/ML solutions, particularly in architecting scalable systems and working with generative AI platforms. Candidates should possess a strong academic background in relevant fields and experience in data science or consulting. The role is classified as inside IR35 with a negotiable salary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect scalable, performance, and cost-optimized AI/ML solutions.
- Engage with multiple stakeholders to implement enterprise Gen AI platforms.
- Design and build solutions within complex legacy organizations.
- Differentiate between Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI/ML techniques.
- Articulate the merits of GenAI technology players and LLM products.
- Deploy and host Large Foundational Models (LFM).
- Design LLM-enabled target process flows and identify implications for solution components.
- Integrate methodologies for accessing necessary GenAI data sources.
- Provide guidance in the technical implementation of production-grade applications.
- Understand and apply advanced prompt engineering methods.
- Experience with microservices topologies and operational concerns.
Key Skills:
- University degree in a mathematical-scientific field, Data Science, IT, or business administration.
- Industry or consulting experience with a background in data science.
- Experience with GenAI, Python, and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience in deploying and hosting LFM.
- Knowledge of developing and integrating APIs for ML models.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous improvement.
- Applied knowledge of popular models, vendors, and orchestration frameworks.

Job Description
Candidate Profile
- University degree with above-average academic performance in a mathematical-scientific field, Data Science, information technology, or business administration
- Previous industry or consulting experience considered with a background in data science preferred and a good understanding of concepts relevant to AL/ML
- Experience in architecting scalable, performance and cost optimized AL/ML Solutions.
- You can speak the language of Enterprise technology and can run a complex design process with multiple stakeholders in order to implement enterprise Gen AI platforms.
- You will have designed and built something in complex Legacy organisation
- Able to differentiate concepts & applicability of Large Language Models (LLMs) vs. other AI/ML techniques
- Knowledge of the main GenAI technology players and LLM products whilst being able to articulate their merits and implications for clients' sourcing strategies (eg guardrails, security, performance and cost)
- You will have experience with GenAI, python and typescript (Previous experience in coding is highly desirable although you will not be coding)
- Hands on experience in deploying and hosting Large Foundational Models (LFM)
- Able to articulate the key application components in a typical GenAI solution, their purposes & interactions
- Experience in people design and implementation of generative AI platforms for clients alongside a dev team from strategy to IT operations.
- Design LLM-enabled target process flows identifying implications/requirements for each solution component
- Experience on integration methodologies for accessing necessary GenAI data sources
- Knowledge in developing and integrating APIs especially related to serve ML models
- Experience in providing guidance in technical implementation of production-grade applications by engineering teams
- Applied knowledge of popular models, vendors (incl. cloud providers), orchestration frameworks and advanced prompt engineering, fine-tuning etc.
- Able to understand & apply advanced prompt engineering methods and related concepts (RAG, context windows, memory)
- Own problems end-to-end, and are willing to pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to get the job done to ensure both your team and our clients succeed.
- Knowledge in developing and integrating APIs especially related to serve ML models.
- Overview of common development methods and tools DevOps practices and Continuous Improvement
- Experience with Micro services topologies, including operational concerns such as resiliency, observability, discovery and routing, security etc.
