Summary: The role is for a Python Engineer on a 12-month contract to assist in the development of a new credit trading and risk platform for a leading investment firm in London. The position requires strong Python engineering skills and offers the opportunity for full ownership of the software development lifecycle. The contractor will work closely with portfolio managers and traders, contributing to the architecture and delivery of core front-office systems. There is potential for the role to convert to a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and deliver core front-office systems from scratch.
  • Work on a new credit trading and risk platform with zero legacy code.
  • Engage directly with portfolio managers and traders.
  • Take full ownership of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Key Skills:

  • 3 years+ Python engineering experience (object-oriented programming and design patterns).
  • Solid computer science fundamentals (data structures, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders.
  • Background from reputable tech or finance environments.

Salary (Rate): £600 daily

12-Month Contract - Python Engineer – Next-Gen Credit Trading Platform

Location: London (4 days onsite)

Compensation: £400 - £600 per day (Inside IR35)

**Potential to convert to Permanent**

I'm working with a global leading investment firm, embarking on 'Phase 2' of their movement in London. They're building out a brand-new credit trading and risk platform from the ground up and are looking to bring on a strong Python contractor to help architect, develop, and deliver core front-office systems from scratch. THIS IS: Zero legacy, direct access to PMs/traders, and full ownership of the SDLC.

Requirements:

  • Happy to work on a 12-month contract.
  • 3 years+ Python engineering experience (OO + design patterns)
  • Solid Comp Sci Fundamentals (Data structures, etc)
  • Strong communication — able to face off to stakeholders
  • Solid background from reputable tech or finance environments
