Summary: The Technical Architect role based in Barrow-in-Furness requires a candidate to work on-site for five days a week, focusing on project tasks and customer handling. The position demands expertise in Microsoft Windows operating systems, SCCM, and networking technologies, along with a strong understanding of IT service management. The contract is for four months, with a daily rate between £575 and £610, classified as inside IR35. Candidates must also meet UK Security Vetting requirements at SC level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned works within allocated timeframes and support internal and external Project Managers.
- Undertake NSR tasks to agreed timescales and possess exceptional customer handling skills.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows O/S, including build, configuration, and registry settings.
- Manage SCCM tasks including OS and application deployment, fault finding, monitoring, and reporting.
- Understand LAN/WAN/vLAN and Wi-Fi technologies, DHCP, DNS/WINS, PXE, and VPN/remote connectivity.
- Apply scripting technologies such as PowerShell and VB Scripting for automation.
- Implement security measures including disk encryption and shared folder security.
- Configure Microsoft Exchange environment and email clients, including MS Outlook.
- Handle computer peripherals and maintain working knowledge of IT Service Management software (ServiceNow).
Key Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows O/S (Windows 10 & Windows 7).
- Experience with SCCM for OS and application deployment.
- Understanding of networking technologies (LAN/WAN/vLAN, DHCP, DNS/WINS).
- Proficiency in scripting technologies (PowerShell, VB Scripting).
- Knowledge of disk encryption and shared folder security.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange and email client configuration.
- Experience with IT Service Management software (ServiceNow).
- Exceptional customer handling skills.

Automation - Understanding of Scripting technologies such as PowerShell, VB Scripting, and batch Files is beneficial. Security - knowledge of disk encryption using bit locker, NTFS permissions and shared folder security. An appreciation of the Microsoft Exchange environment, email client configuration, MS Outlook, instant messaging tools (Skype for business), along with general etiquette. Computer peripherals - including but not limited to printers (including MFD's), display screens, docking stations, port replicators, cameras and scanners.
