  • Lead and guide the appointed Finance Analyst to meet Get Well Programme objectives.
  • Drive process change and improved discipline across the business.
  • Provide recommendations based on quality data analysis to relevant stakeholders.

Role Purpose
QinetiQ Group Plc is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to work in its UK Defence (UKD) Sector for an interim period of 4-6 months. This analytical role will be to support a Get Well Programme within the Sector’s Germany business and will be the key business partner for the appointed Programme Director. The key objective of the role is to utilise data from the German business to establish true profitability of key contracts and to understand the cost base of the business to support future decision making.

Key Accountabilities
Accountability for scrutinising the cost base (raw data) and engaging the local German teams to provide clarity on cost and headcount allocation by key contracts/lines of business and overhead
Work in partnership with the Get Well Programme Director to establish:
Estimated Cost at Completion (EAC) of key contract in Germany
the direct and indirect cost base of the business
profitable / non-profitable lines of business
the appropriateness of the overhead cost within the business
Develop rationalised cost centre/WBS structure to capture costs appropriately across key contracts/lines of business/overhead – launch guidance across the organisation
Utilising all of the above to provide an informative view to the Germany FD to support the development of a robust FY27 Budget
Provide leadership and guidance to the appointed Finance Analyst to ensure objectives of the Get Well Programme are being met
Providing financial leadership to drive process change and improved discipline across the business
Providing recommendations to the relevant stakeholders (Gell Well Programme Director, UKD FD, Germany FD) based on quality data analysis

Key Capabilities/Knowledge
Financial Acumen: P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow & Investment appraisal experience is essential.
Results Orientated: Focused on improvement of Business results.
Strong analytical skills: Ability to forensically analyse data to deliver evidence-based recommendations
Collaboration: Engaging with finance and non-finance professionals to gather practical evidence to support data assumptions
Influence: Stakeholder management skills are key to this role including the ability to influence and improve current ways of working
Leadership: Financial leadership to ensure the Get Well Team are focusing in the right areas to effectively address the key objectives

Experience & Qualifications
Qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA
Experience of working on a “fix” project/business to deliver specific outcomes within a given schedule
Experience in delivering detailed financial analysis whilst being able to step back and draw conclusions and recommendations to support senior management decision making
Experience of stakeholder management and the ability to form and maintain good relationships and communicate with senior management
Experience in communicating confidently and being able to translate financial information into simple and straight-forward messages
Demonstrate experience in influencing others in decision making
Key qualities: ambitious, high energy and outcome focused
Domain knowledge is an advantage
Must be a UK national and will require security clearance
