Summary: The Senior Construction Project Manager will oversee a high-profile construction project in London, ensuring successful delivery from inception to completion. This role demands strong technical, commercial, and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on maintaining project timelines, costs, and quality. The position requires active SC clearance and involves significant interaction with contractors, clients, and design teams. The contract is set to last until December 2026, with a hybrid working arrangement of two days onsite per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the successful delivery of a major construction project from inception through to completion
- Manage and hold contractors accountable for programme, cost, and quality performance
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the project remains on track
- Act as the primary interface between the client and design teams (architects and engineers)
- Coordinate across contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders
- Deliver clear and consistent reporting to senior leadership
- Own the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out
- Develop and maintain robust project plans covering scope, cost, schedule, and resources
- Monitor progress and performance, taking corrective action where needed
- Manage change control processes and ensuring governance is maintained
- Lead stakeholder engagement at a senior level
- Drive collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure all Health & Safety standards and regulations are upheld
Key Skills:
- Significant experience operating as a Senior Project Manager or Project Director within the built environment
- Strong technical understanding of construction delivery and methodologies
- Proven financial and commercial management capability
- Experience working with contract frameworks such as JCT and NEC
- Advanced knowledge of project scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera, MS Project)
- Expert understanding of UK construction Health & Safety regulations
- Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
- Active SC Clearance (applications without this cannot be considered)
