A strong technical background in reporting, SQL, and visualization tools like Tableau is essential, along with a solid understanding of trading and financial terminology. The role is based in London and requires on-site presence for 2-3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and optimize commodity data for power, gas, and metals.
  • Work with commodity data and understand trading and financial terminology.
  • Assess technical and reporting requirements for a new application focused on energy efficiency and emissions reduction.
  • Consider future-proofing the application from a tech stack perspective.
  • Utilize SQL and visualization tools like Tableau for reporting and data analysis.

For this role you must have extensive experience in enhancing and optimising commodity data for power, gas and metals across the trading landscape. You need a strong understanding of the commodities trading landscape, both physical and financial, and be comfortable working with commodity data within power, gas and metals with a good knowledge of trading and financial terminology. You will need knowledge of pricing, commodity pricing and curve generation and have experience working with market data providers such as ZEMA, Refinitiv and Bloomberg.

Working for a consultancy client of ours with a major player in the energy industry you will be business focussed with a technical background in reporting and with industry experience to understand market data and trading data. The client is looking at implementing a new application which is used to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions which you will need to be able to asses from a technical and reporting requirement perspective whilst also considering future proofing the application from a tech stack perspective. Tech wise a good background in SQL is required plus Tableau or other visualisation tools.

You will need to be on the client site for 2-3 days a week and the role will be inside IR35.
