Summary: The role of Security Architect focuses on leading the security requirements analysis for a major Government department's Move to Cloud programme, specifically involving Oracle database platforms. The position requires extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and the development of enhanced cloud security standards. The architect will also produce a Requirements and Impact Analysis report and document technical options for security architecture frameworks. This role is based in a hybrid working environment across Manchester, Newcastle, and London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead security requirements analysis for the Move to Cloud programme.
- Engage with stakeholders to update departmental security standards and enhance cloud security standards.
- Provide leadership and direction to technical engineering/development resources regarding security requirements.
- Produce a Requirements and Impact Analysis report.
- Document technical options and candidate security architecture frameworks.
Key Skills:
- Experience as a Security Architect with Oracle database expertise.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of cloud security standards, particularly on Oracle on AWS.
- Experience with Java middleware, Pro*C, and PL/SQL batch applications.
- Familiarity with client-side field level encryption in large-scale Oracle custom applications.

Target technical platform is Oracle on AWS with a Java middleware layer and Pro*C, PL/SQL batch application. Provide leadership and direction to technical engineering/development resources in impacting potential security requirements and drive out technical approaches and solutions. The architect will be responsible for the production of a Requirements and Impact Analysis report, and documenting technical options and candidate security architecture frameworks to meet the client requirements. Experience with Client-side field level encryption in a large-scale Oracle custom apps environment would be ideal.
