Summary: The Scrum Master role in Manchester involves facilitating agile delivery teams within a regulated financial services environment, focusing on delivering secure and scalable cloud-native solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement).
  • Ensure predictable delivery through strong cadence discipline and transparent progress monitoring.
  • Maintain team focus on sprint commitments and align work to PI business priorities.
  • Partner closely with Product Owners, UX, Engineers, Cloud Architects and Compliance stakeholders.
  • Support backlog refinement, prioritisation, and slicing work into customer centric increments.
  • Communicate team status, risks, dependencies, and delivery forecasts across PI and wider programmes.
  • Coach teams on Agile best practices, flow optimisation, DevSecOps culture, and lean waste reduction.
  • Promote psychological safety, constructive challenge, experimentation, and data driven improvement.
  • Strengthen engineering maturity by supporting adoption of automation, CI/CD, IaC, and Cloud native patterns.
  • Ensure Scrum delivery aligns with the customer's risk, audit, and compliance controls (eg, secure coding, change management, operational resilience).
  • Support regulatory documentation readiness for audits and technology risk reviews.
  • Promote secure by design and cloud well architected thinking.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead in technology teams.
  • Proven track record supporting cross functional engineering teams, ideally building digital consumer facing platforms.
  • Working knowledge of cloud delivery environments (AWS strongly preferred).
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, conflict resolution, and servant leadership skills.
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence, CI/CD pipelines, and agile metrics (Cumulative Flow, Cycle Time, Velocity).
  • Ability to operate in regulated financial services contexts with high standards for quality, security, and resilience.
  • Experience in investment, wealth, or retail financial services platforms (desirable).
  • Exposure to domain driven design, microservices architecture, and API centric ecosystems (desirable).
  • SAFe, PSM II, or other advanced Agile certifications (desirable).

Role Description:

The Scrum Master plays a critical role in enabling Personal Investor Technology teams to deliver secure, scalable, cloud native solutions that support millions of UK retail investors. Operating within a highly regulated financial services environment, you will facilitate cross functional agile delivery teams building digital investor experiences on AWS. You will champion Agile principles, remove impediments, foster collaboration, and ensure teams continuously improve while adhering to the customer's engineering, compliance, and security standards.

Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery & Facilitation
Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement).

While you are not required to be a hands on technologist, the Scrum Master is expected to understand:
AWS native delivery patterns (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, etc.).
Security, resilience, and compliance expectations of financial services cloud platforms.
DevOps pipelines, release management, automated testing, and observability practices.

Governance & Risk Management
Ensure Scrum delivery aligns with the customer's risk, audit, and compliance controls (eg, secure coding, change management, operational resilience).
Support regulatory documentation readiness for audits and technology risk reviews.
