Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, customise, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins
- Build responsive, accessible, and high-performing websites
- Translate designs (Figma/Adobe XD/Sketch) into functional WordPress builds
- Implement custom functionality using PHP, JavaScript, and modern development practices
- Optimise websites for speed, SEO, and performance
- Work collaboratively with designers, project managers, and other developers
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Ensure code quality, documentation, and best practices are followed
Key Skills:
- Strong commercial experience with WordPress development
- Solid PHP experience (theme & plugin development)
- Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
- Strong front-end skills (HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript)
- Experience building custom themes (not just page builders)
- Understanding of REST APIs and third-party integrations
- Experience with Git/version control
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Desirable: Experience with WooCommerce
- Familiarity with modern build tools (Webpack, Vite, etc.)
- Headless WordPress experience
- Knowledge of technical SEO best practices
- Experience working in an agency environment

Due to an increase in newly secured projects, they are looking to engage experienced WordPress Contractors to support delivery across multiple web builds. This is a fully remote opportunity, working with a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
The Role:
We are seeking experienced WordPress Developers (High Junior–Mid or Mid–Senior level) to work on a range of website projects. You will play a key role in building, customising, and maintaining WordPress websites, ensuring high performance, scalability, and clean, maintainable code. This is a contract opportunity operating outside IR35.
