Summary: The Wi-Fi Architect role involves designing and delivering mesh networking features within an embedded broadband software stack, specifically in an RDK-B environment. The position requires active participation in industry consortiums and collaboration with partners to enhance mesh Wi-Fi solutions. Additionally, the architect will lead certification readiness for Wi-Fi Alliance programs and coordinate interoperability validation across multi-vendor environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the design and delivery of mesh networking features within an embedded broadband software stack (RDK-B environment)
- Actively participate in industry consortiums and collaborate with ecosystem partners to advance mesh Wi-Fi solutions
- Lead certification readiness for Wi-Fi Alliance programs, including validation, debugging, and compliance alignment
- Coordinate interoperability validation with external controllers and ensure seamless integration across multi-vendor environments
- Work closely with telecom/cable operators to understand deployment needs, troubleshoot field issues, and align product capabilities
- Establish development standards, enforce code quality, and streamline build/release pipelines
- Strong understanding of Wi-Fi technologies across multiple generations (Wi-Fi 4, 5, 6/6E, and emerging Wi-Fi 7 standards)
- Experience working with wireless configuration tools and interfaces such as hostapd, wpa_supplicant, iw, and netlink-based frameworks
- Solid background in Linux systems, including kernel-level networking and wireless driver interaction
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming; exposure to scripting languages like Python is a plus
- Knowledge of broadband frameworks or embedded platforms (experience with RDK-B is advantageous)
- Familiarity with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, and enterprise authentication (802.1X/EAP)
- Hands-on experience with network debugging and packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump)
- Exposure to Wi-Fi certification environments, automated test setups, and validation tools
- Experience using version control tools like Git (preferred), along with other repositories
- Familiarity with issue tracking and agile tools such as Jira or similar platforms
