Summary: The Senior Workday Finance Lead for Accounting & Planning is responsible for overseeing the General Ledger, financial strategy, and closing processes while partnering with the Controller and FP&A teams. This role involves managing financial data models, configuring business processes, and ensuring effective integration between Workday and Adaptive Planning. The position also includes providing L2 support for operational activities and troubleshooting issues related to financial reporting and asset management. Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the Financial Data Model (FDM) and configure business processes for journals, fixed assets, and allocations.
  • Maintain integration between Workday Core Fin and Adaptive, managing versions and structures for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Configure Bank Account Management and manage withholding tax rules and sales tax adapter integrations.
  • Design Composite Reports for external financial statements.
  • Troubleshoot errors preventing period close and resolve unposted journals.
  • Investigate and fix bank statement lines that fail to auto-reconcile.
  • Troubleshoot access issues for budget managers in Adaptive sheets.
  • Correct asset depreciation errors and approve requests for new Cost Centers or Ledger Accounts.

Key Skills:

  • Workday Pro/Implementer certification in Core Financials or Adaptive Planning.
  • 5+ years of experience in Finance Systems with knowledge of GAAP/IFRS accounting principles.
  • CPA or background in Accounting is highly preferred.

Job Description:
  • Logical Grouping: Record to Report (R2R), Tax, Treasury, Adaptive Planning, Business Finance
  • Focus: This role focuses on the General Ledger, closing the books, and financial strategy. You are the partner to the Controller and FP&A teams.
Key Responsibilities (Strategy & Configuration):
  • Record to Report (R2R): Own the Financial Data Model (FDM). Configure Business Processes for Journals, Fixed Assets, and Allocations. Design the period-close checklist to shorten close cycles.
  • Adaptive Planning: Maintain the integration between Workday Core Fin and Adaptive. Manage versions, sheets, and level structures for annual budgeting and forecasting.
  • Tax & Treasury: Configure Bank Account Management, Settlement Rules, and Ad-hoc Bank Transactions. Manage withholding tax rules and sales tax adapter integrations.
  • Reporting: Design Composite Reports for external financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow).
L2 Support & Operational Activities (Daily Run)
  • Period Close Support: Troubleshoot "red" errors preventing period close (e.g., resolving unposted journals, fixing accounting date mismatches).
  • Bank Reconciliation: Investigate and fix bank statement lines that fail to auto-reconcile with system transactions.
  • Adaptive User Support: Troubleshoot access issues for budget managers and fix broken formulas in Adaptive sheets.
  • Asset Management: Correct asset depreciation errors or rollback incorrect asset disposals.
  • FDM Governance: Review and approve requests for new Cost Centers or Ledger Accounts, ensuring they map correctly to Adaptive.
Qualifications
