Summary: The role is for two experienced AWS Aurora PostgreSQL Database Administrators on a 6-month contract, fully remote within the EU. Digitech are partnered with globally recognised tech brand, HQ in London, with unicorn status. We're looking for two experienced AWS Aurora PostgreSQL DBAs to join a high-performing tech team on an initial 6-month contract. This role is critical in strengthening database expertise, improving resilience, and optimising performance across a large-scale AWS environment.
The role
You'll be stepping into an environment with 300 - 400 Aurora PostgreSQL databases, helping to:
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production incidents
- Debug high-impact database issues in live environments
- Provide on-call database support
- Identify performance optimisation opportunities
- Improve reliability, scalability, and operational best practices
- Implement better ways of working across database infrastructure
This team has experienced production challenges in the past and is looking for someone who can confidently step in, quickly identify root causes, and implement lasting solutions.
Required Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS Aurora PostgreSQL
- Deep expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning & optimisation
- Proven experience running high-scale, high-performance database environments
- Strong AWS cloud experience (essential)
- Strong Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) experience (essential)

- 1 week on-call in every 5 weeks
