Summary: The Product Designer role at Twinkl is a 12-month fixed-term contract focused on enhancing user experiences for educators and parents through innovative design. The position involves creating user-centric interfaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leveraging customer insights to inform design decisions. The designer will also contribute to the development of a design system and support the entire product development process. This role is remote and requires a strong background in product design, particularly in the education technology sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications.
- Design intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing user interfaces.
- Ensure a seamless user experience through clear navigation and interaction flows.
- Collaborate with UXR and customer insights teams to conduct user research.
- Translate research findings into actionable design insights and product requirements.
- Coordinate and lead ideation forums with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, UXR, data, and education teams.
- Develop and implement design systems for consistency across digital products.
- Support the end-to-end product development process from conception to launch.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product design, preferably in customer-facing products.
- Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.
- Strong portfolio showcasing design process and user research.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with prototyping AI tools.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices.
- Knowledge of the EdTech landscape and emerging technologies like AI is a plus.

The product team is dedicated to creating innovative and engaging experiences for both learners and educators. We are committed to enriching the lives of users by maintaining and evolving our web platform, as well as through creating tools that save adults time and educational applications that inspire learning in children.
We’re looking for an experienced Product Designer to evolve our retention experiences on the website, helping bring value to users and elevate their Twinkl experience. You will be responsible for designing user-centric interfaces that make the lives of educators and parents easier every day.
Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:
- Customer-centric UX/UI design: Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications.
- Design intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing user interfaces that enhance the learning experience.
- Ensure a seamless user experience by designing clear navigation, interaction flows, and information architecture.
- Leverage customer insights: Collaborate with the UXR and customer insights teams to conduct user research to understand the needs, pain points, and behaviours of educators and students.
- Translate research findings into actionable design insights and product requirements.
- Design exploration: Coordinate and lead appropriate forums for the purpose of ideation and exploring design solutions with a cross-functional team, including stakeholders (you will have an extensive toolkit of methodologies to enable this)
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborating with engineering, product, UXR, data and education teams to ensure the successful development and launch of products.
- Building a design system and standards: You will be at the forefront of the development and implementation of design systems, bringing consistency and improved usability across all digital products on all channels
- Support the end-to-end product development process: From product conception and ideation through to implementation, pre-launch testing and final customer feedback (circling back into iterative product design) you will be engaged and contributing every step of the way to ensure a successful launch of high quality products
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product design, preferably in customer-facing products across web or apps, education technology or related industry.
- Proficiency in Figma or similar.
- Strong portfolio showcasing your design process, user research, and final designs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- First-hand experience with some of the latest prototyping AI tools, either professionally or as personal experimentation.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices.
- An understanding of the EdTech landscape, and emerging technologies such as AI is a plus.
