OCI Network Architect & Lead

Summary: The OCI Network Architect & Lead role is focused on designing and leading complex enterprise network architectures on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The position requires extensive experience in large-scale network design, migration, and cloud security controls. Responsibilities include architecture leadership, engineering oversight, and establishing best practices for OCI networking. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various teams to ensure compliant and scalable network deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and implement OCI network solutions, including VCNs, subnets, DRG, FastConnect, VPN, and multi-region connectivity.
• Lead OCI network roadmap, migration strategies, and cross-cloud networking (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform if applicable).
• Define network security policies, Zero-Trust principles, IAM, encryption, NAC, firewall rules, and routing governance.
• Implement HA/DR network strategies, traffic segmentation, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity models.
• Lead network automation initiatives using Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, and IaC frameworks.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure scalable and compliant network deployments.
• Provide L4/L5 escalation expertise, network troubleshooting, performance tuning, and post-implementation validation.
• Mentor engineering teams and guide operational readiness and long-term support models.

Key Skills:

• 10 15+ years of IT networking experience, including large enterprise environments.
• 5+ years of hands-on OCI networking architecture experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with VCN design & segmentation.
• DRG, Local Peering (LPDG), Remote Peering (RPDP), FastConnect and VPN.
• Load Balancers (L7/L4), DNS, edge routing, firewalls, NAT gateways, Service Gateways.
• Network monitoring, traffic analysis, packet inspection, NAC, routing protocols.
• Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks, compliance models, and Zero Trust networking.
• Hands-on IaC automation experience with Terraform, Ansible, or OCI Resource Manager.
• OCI Architect Professional or OCI Networking Certification preferred.
• Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, F5, or Fortinet certifications preferred.
• Experience in multi-cloud network architecture and migration preferred.
• Experience with Kubernetes Networking (OKE, CNI plugins, ingress/egress patterns) preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation ability.
• Able to lead engineering teams and technical workshops.
• Proactive, analytical, and strong escalation management skills.
