Summary: We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Database Administrator specializing in Software AG’s ADABAS platform to manage a large-scale mainframe environment. The role focuses on ensuring the performance, reliability, and availability of critical database systems. The position can be based in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, or performed remotely. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database administration and system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain 60+ ADABAS databases in a large-scale environment (9TB+ data footprint).
  • Support and maintain integrations across ADABAS ecosystem components including ADABAS Security, Natural, Natural Security, Entire NetWork, AOS, Review, and SQL Gateway.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize performance of ADABAS, Natural, Entire NetWork, and SQL Gateway environments.
  • Execute and manage database backup, restore, and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Perform upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance across Software AG products.
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues, performance bottlenecks, and user-related problems.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in rotational on-call support as required.

  • Strong hands-on experience with ADABAS Database Administration (Software AG).
  • Proficiency in Natural programming language, Natural One, and Natural Security.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Database Administrator with strong expertise in Software AG’s ADABAS platform. This role will support a large-scale mainframe environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of critical database systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Database Administration:
    Manage and maintain 60+ ADABAS databases in a large-scale environment (9TB+ data footprint).
  • System Integration:
    Support and maintain integrations across ADABAS ecosystem components including ADABAS Security, Natural, Natural Security, Entire NetWork, AOS, Review, and SQL Gateway.
  • Performance Management:
    Monitor, analyze, and optimize performance of ADABAS, Natural, Entire NetWork, and SQL Gateway environments.
  • Backup & Recovery:
    Execute and manage database backup, restore, and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Software Maintenance:
