Summary: The role of IT Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Specialist is essential for a not-for-profit organization aiming to enhance its resilience. The specialist will collaborate with internal teams to evaluate existing capabilities, identify deficiencies, and establish effective disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. This position requires a strong background in IT disaster recovery, particularly with Veeam and Azure environments. The contract is remote, initially for three months, with a preference for immediate starters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess current IT disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
- Identify gaps in existing strategies and implement robust DR/BC plans.
- Coordinate regular testing and simulation exercises to validate recovery plans.
- Manage backup and disaster recovery strategies for cloud-based workloads in Azure.
- Ensure DR/BC planning aligns with ISO 22301 best practices.
- Maintain solid knowledge of IT infrastructure and operations.

I'm currently working with a not for profit organisation that’s looking for an experienced IT Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Specialist. This role is critical in helping them strengthen their resilience. You’ll be working closely with internal teams to assess current capabilities, identify gaps, and implement robust DR/BC strategies. Key Experience includes:
- Strong background in IT Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Proven hands-on experience with Veeam
- Experience working in azure environments - managing backup and disaster recovery strategies for cloud-based workloads
- DR/BC planning aligned with ISO 22301 best practices
- Coordinate regular testing and simulation exercises (tabletop exercises, failover drills) to validate the effectiveness of recovery plans
- Solid IT infrastructure and operations knowledge
