Summary: Studio Southsea Interior Services is seeking a Freelance Mid-Weight 2D/3D Designer proficient in SketchUp Pro, AutoCAD, and LayOut to work remotely. The role involves creating high-quality design documentation and 3D models for high-end residential interior design projects. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and experienced in delivering presentation-ready outputs. This position supports a growing portfolio of clients both in the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help establish design concepts for new projects and prepare high-quality design documentation for key stakeholders.
- Develop 3D models and renders to illustrate design intent throughout the design process.
- Produce detailed design drawings including layouts, bespoke joinery, furniture plans, lighting and electrical plans, sections, and elevations.
- Prepare mood boards, sample boards, and supporting documentation for client presentations.
- Assist with preparation for design meetings and presentations.
- Work collaboratively to meet project deadlines and maintain a smooth workflow across multiple projects.
- Manage multiple projects at once and initiate reviews at key design stages with the Lead Designer.
- Research technical solutions to resolve design and detailing challenges.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
- Minimum five years experience in 3D design and documentation, preferably in high-end residential Interior Design.
- Full proficiency in SketchUp Pro for 3D modelling.
- Full proficiency in LayOut or AutoCAD for producing scaled, annotated drawing packs.
- Full proficiency in rendering software, preferably Enscape or Twinmotion.
- Experience translating mood boards, FF&E schedules, sketches, and plans into 3D models and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of interior design principles and aesthetics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.

We work collaboratively with creatives to translate their ideas into refined, presentation-ready outputs, from detailed mood boards and precise CAD drawings to 3D models and high-quality visualisations. Based in Southsea, Hampshire, we support clients across the UK and internationally. We are currently seeking a Freelance Mid-Weight 2D/3D Designer, highly proficient in SketchUp Pro and confident using AutoCAD and LayOut, to work remotely from their own professional setup in support of our growing portfolio of interior design clients.
Role Description This is a remote role, ideal for someone who’s detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced in delivering clean, presentation-ready design documentation for high-end residential interior design projects. You’ll be working alongside our founder and creative lead on a project-by-project basis to help bring design concepts to life.
