Summary: This role seeks a hands-on marketing or events professional to coordinate EU marketing communications and events, working with international stakeholders. The position involves operational execution, travel, and managing trade fairs and related activities. The candidate will also collect market feedback and assist in enhancing marketing execution as the organization grows. This is a remote independent contractor role, requiring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate EU marketing communications activities and events based on marketing plan.
  • Work with partners including agencies, media, industry bodies, members, and other downstream “users” of DALI to enhance global presence and consistent messaging.
  • Organise, prepare and coordinate timelines, project plans, internal and vendor communications for events including trade fairs, speaking engagements, seminars, and related activities.
  • On-site Trade fair (and relevant live events) preparation and coordination including set-up and break-down, working with local contractors for booth assembly and delivery.
  • Attend events on-site as required, which may be UK or Europe, for the duration of the event, which will include weekends.
  • Attend approximately 5 to 10 such events per year, with flexibility for an increase as activities expand, which includes the associated travel.
  • Collect and report market feedback, follow-ups, and return on investment insight related to marketing activities.
  • Assist the marketing manager to enable increased EU based activities and strengthening marketing execution as the organization continues to grow.

Key Skills:

  • Recognized qualification in marketing communications or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrable appropriate experience in a similar role with trade events or event coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop working relationships with colleagues and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Flexible and adaptable with strong time-management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English language communication skills.
  • Competent using standard productivity tools, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with trade-show set-up and coordination.
  • Willing and enthusiastic about travel.
  • Experience in the lighting industry or closely related field (electrical, building systems), technical is desirable.
  • Digital marketing experience, including social media, is a plus.
  • Additional Languages relevant to the operating locations of the Alliance would be welcome but not essential beyond English.

    ADDITIONAL NOTES

    • This is a remote independent contractor role. There is no UK/European office and most of our regular meetings are online. Candidates need to be comfortable (and disciplined) to working independently and managing their time effectively in a remote environment. Location is flexible anywhere in UK or EU time zones, however proximity to a travel hub would be beneficial.
    • Although we are a truly global organization, all meetings and operations are conducted in English.
