Summary: The role of a Generalist Editor involves creating and refining prompts for AI training, ensuring clarity and accuracy in AI-generated responses. The position requires collaboration with research teams and a commitment of 10 to 40 hours per week in a fully remote environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Create realistic base prompts across a wide range of generalist topics for AI training.
• Review, evaluate, and refine AI-generated responses for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with human reasoning.
• Develop prompt–response iterations using variations in length, tone, style, and system instructions.
• Identify failure points and inconsistencies in model outputs to support benchmarking efforts.
• Apply consistent quality standards across diverse task types such as summaries, Q&A, and synthesis tasks.
• Collaborate asynchronously with research teams supporting supervised fine-tuning of frontier models.

Key Skills:

• Strong professional background in research, education, writing, editing, or adjacent analytical fields.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Strong critical thinking skills and high attention to detail.
