Summary: We are looking for a skilled Oracle and SQL Server Database Administrator to manage the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of databases. The role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The position is remote and is open to independent contractors. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in database administration and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Monitor database performance and apply patches/versions when required.
- Ensure database security through proper controls and regular audits.
- Perform database backup and recovery operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
- Develop and implement database maintenance plans.
- Work with development teams to design and optimize database schemas.
- Create and maintain documentation for configurations and processes.
- Provide support for database-related incidents and service requests.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
Key Skills:
