Summary: The Data Conversion Specialist will be responsible for analyzing and mapping data from an old system to a new one, developing data conversion plans, and ensuring data quality throughout the process. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams, as well as providing training and documentation. The specialist will also participate in team meetings and ensure compliance with technical standards. Expertise in SQL, ETL tools, and data migration projects is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and map data from the old system to the new one.
- Develop and implement data conversion plans.
- Design and execute data validation and testing processes.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data conversion process.
- Collaborate with LDWF stakeholders and OTS technical teams to define and prioritize data conversion requirements.
- Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, and documentation to OTS and LDWF Agency staff for all requested work.
- Participate by providing feedback and detailed design and implementation approaches in all necessary team meetings and design sessions in accordance with Scrum ceremonies.
- Cooperate with LDWF's Technical Architect and other OTS technical teams to ensure compliance with OTS standards of State applications.
- Perform all other tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans as directed.
Key Skills:
- Two (2) plus years advanced SQL experience writing complex queries, joins, and stored procedures.
- Two (2) plus years ETL experience using enterprise tools (Informatica, SSIS) or scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
- Four (4) plus years experience working on data migration or data integration projects.
- Experience in Data Profiling, Schema Mapping, Data Normalization, and Error Handling.
- Experience with creating documentation such as data mapping documents and data dictionaries (desirable).
- Experience working on a development team (desirable).
- Experience with client engagements on design, delivery, deployment, and ongoing maintenance (desirable).
- Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment (desirable).

languages (Python, PowerShell) to move data from Point A to Point B.
Four (4) plus years experience working on data migration or data integration projects with
specific experience in Data Profiling, Schema Mapping, Data Normalization, and Error
Handling

Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are desirable but not mandatory:
