Summary: The Quantity Surveyor - Mechanical role involves executing the implementation of Management/Construction Information Systems for construction projects, focusing on quantity management and compliance with company procedures. The position requires coordination of various systems related to spooling, welding, and material traceability. The successful candidate will also be responsible for updating project documentation and assisting in the technical-administrative aspects of claims. This role is based on-site for a 12-month contract and is classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update the project bill of quantities according to passive invoicing procedures.
  • Update the project management database with actual data.
  • Supply/verify quantitative data for extra works and dayworks.
  • Verify data consistency with company procedures and project agreements.
  • Assist in creating quantity management reports and construction cost estimates.
  • Verify monitoring of daily manhours/equipment spent by subcontractors.
  • Assist in the technical-administrative settling of claims presented by subcontractors and/or to Client.
  • Coordinate a team of Quantity Surveyors, maintaining project targets and responsibilities.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as QS Mechanical with over 10 years of piping experience.
  • Expertise in piping classes and material families.
  • Knowledge of weld mapping and traceability.

Detailed Description From Employer:

12 Month Contract - OUTSIDE IR35, based on site up to 5.5 days per week

As QS Mechanical you will execute the implementation on projects of the Management/Construction Information Systems utilized for the management of construction quantities, for the planning, progress recording, quality assessment, accounting of construction works, and collecting erected/installed quantities, in compliance with projects requirements and Company procedures. The mission includes coordination of the implementation of Spooling, Welding and Material Traceability Systems.

How can you support us? Here below are your responsibilities:

  • Update the project bill of quantities in the form of a quantity record booklet according to passive invoicing procedures
  • Update the project management database with actual data
  • Supply/verify quantitative data for the preparation of extra works and dayworks and support the Discipline Superintendent and management team for proper definition of any NP (New Price) and CWO (Change Work Order)
  • Verify data consistency in respect to company procedures, project agreements, preambles, price list and specific requirements defined in the subcontracts in place
  • Assist the Mgmt Syst. and Quantity Manager for the creation of the quantity management reports and construction costs estimate to complete
  • Verify the monitoring of daily manhours/equipment spent by site subcontractors or by direct hiring activities
  • Assist the Construction Manager and the Discipline Superintendent in the technical-administrative settling of claims presented by subcontractors and/or to Client

In addition to all the above, in case of coordination of a team of Quantity Surveyors, the coordinator, with suitable experience and seniority, shall effectively drive the team (internal or external resources) maintaining the targets of theproject and/or embrace the ownership and responsibility of more than one discipline

What are we looking for?

Experience: A proven experience operating as QS Mechanical with piping experience. (10 years plus)

Technical Skills: Expertise in piping classes and material families, weld mapping and traceability.
