Summary: The role of QA Automation Engineer focuses on executing and designing test plans, particularly in a hybrid work environment with a strong emphasis on Scala and various testing frameworks. The position is contract-based, requiring collaboration with a growing tech consultancy and the Central Government. The role demands a proactive approach to testing, including exploratory and API testing, while ensuring compliance with design artifacts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute test plans, including functional, non-functional, and accessibility testing.
- Create, set up, and maintain automation testing.
- Ensure the service meets the elaborated requirements and aligns with design artifacts.
- Carry out exploratory testing as part of a broader risk-based approach.
- Perform cross-browser testing using BrowserStack.
- Perform API tests using Bruno when new APIs are tested.
Key Skills:
- Scala experience.
- Must have MacOS experience.
- Experience in testing frameworks including Selenium, Cucumber, and TestNG/JUnit along with Page Object Model (POM).
- Cypress experience is a bonus.
Salary (Rate): £350 daily

QA Automation Tester - SFIA 5
End client: Central Government
Location: Leeds
Hybrid: 1 visit per month (2 days back to back)
Rate: £350 per day inside IR35
Contract Length: 3 months minimum - will extend
Key skills and experience required:
- Scala
- Must have a MacOS
- Experience in testing frameworks inc: Selenium, Cucumber and TestNG/JUnit along with Page Object Model (POM).
- Cypress express would be a bonus
The role will involve:
- Design and execute test plans, including functional, non-functional and accessibility testing.
