Summary: We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a strategic automation and platform engineering program within a bank, focusing on governance, coordination, and technical awareness. The role requires collaboration with architects and technical leads to ensure seamless integration of architecture design and automation standards. The position is hybrid, based in Sheffield, and offers a competitive daily rate. The contract is set to last until November 30, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with clients standards and regulatory requirements.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with automation and platform engineering goals.
- Manage project plans, budgets, risks, and dependencies across multiple technical streams (architecture, automation, platform).
- Drive timely delivery of milestones, ensuring quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Lead and coordinate efforts between Architect, Ansible SME Tech Lead, developers, and infrastructure specialists.
- Ensure alignment of architecture decisions, automation standards, and platform upgrades with project timelines.
- Facilitate integration of automation workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and security/compliance requirements into delivery plans.
- Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders across business and technology teams.
- Communicate progress, risks, and issues clearly and proactively, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Key Skills:
- Familiarity with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and understanding of automation strategy and governance.
- Awareness of Ansible playbook development, RBAC, and credential management.
- Knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift and containerization/orchestration platforms.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools/practices.
- Awareness of Python & YAML scripting and automation use cases.
- Understanding of Generative AI (GenAI) and AI-driven solutions.
- Awareness of Node.js & Full Stack Development and application development life cycle.

Cross-Functional Coordination:
o Lead and coordinate efforts between Architect, Ansible SME Tech Lead, developers, and infrastructure specialists.
