Summary: A leading energy operator is seeking a Process Engineer for a contract role focused on supporting decommissioning activities across offshore assets. The position requires hands-on technical expertise in problem-solving, feasibility studies, and operational support, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. The role is based in the UK with potential offshore travel and is classified as inside IR35. The initial contract is for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support engineering, design, and construct (EDC) activities related to offshore decommissioning programmes
  • Identify solutions to complex, non-standard engineering problems
  • Conduct optioneering studies and feasibility assessments
  • Prepare scopes of work and Basis of Design (BoD) documentation
  • Support detailed design activities across multiple disciplines
  • Assist with operational deliverables including preparation of operating procedures
  • Provide engineering input aligned with offshore operational requirements
  • Collaborate closely with platform technical authorities and multidisciplinary teams

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience as a Process Engineer in oil and gas
  • Strong operational understanding of offshore constraints and best practices
  • Experience supporting decommissioning, brownfield, or late-life assets is advantageous
  • Comfortable working in an EDC or asset support environment
  • Offshore experience preferred
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to work with limited project definition
