Summary: The Process Engineer role is a contract position lasting 3 to 6 months, with the potential for extension, focused on improving manufacturing processes within the aerospace, heavy plant, or motorsport industries. The engineer will be responsible for mapping processes, enhancing production methods, and applying Lean/Six Sigma tools to optimize operations. The position is based in Staffordshire and requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Map and document processes, producing clear SOPs, Work Instructions, and process flow documentation.
  • Review current production methods and identify improvements to safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Support trials, validation activities, and equipment capability studies.
  • Introduce and apply Lean/Six Sigma tools to reduce variation and improve process control.
  • Work with Operations, Quality, and HSE to ensure safe, compliant, repeatable processes.
  • Provide guidance to operators and ensure new processes are properly adopted.

Key Skills:

  • Process engineering experience in general manufacturing, powder metallurgy, pressing, sintering, ceramics, or similar.
  • Strong documentation capability (SOPs, CP/FMEA, risk assessments).
  • Understanding of process capability, variation control, and quality systems (ISO9001/AS9100).
  • Hands-on approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Process Engineer
