Summary: The Principal Software Engineer role in Luton involves developing high-integrity embedded software in ADA for Defensive Aids within the Electronic Warfare function. Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high-integrity, mission-critical embedded software in ADA, supporting requirements capture, design, implementation and verification in line with company processes and customer expectations.
- Own complex engineering tasks end-to-end across the full software lifecycle: requirements, architecture/design, coding, integration, test and delivery.
- Work closely with hardware, firmware and systems engineering teams to deliver robust cross-discipline solutions, while operating autonomously within your area of responsibility.
Key Skills:
- Strong/expert proficiency in Ada, including object-oriented design principles.
- Proven ability to debug in a real-time embedded environment using a COTS RTOS.
- Working knowledge of UML.
- Solid understanding of Verification & Validation methods and when to apply them.
- Experience with requirements engineering, hands-on integration and target/embedded testing.
- Familiarity working within a structured, mature software development framework.

Position Overview
My client is looking for a Pricipal Software Engineer with strong ADA experience to support Defensive Aids development within their Electronic Warfare function. You’ll contribute to the design, build, test and ongoing support of both current and next-generation capabilities across the Praetorian product line.
