Summary: The Payments Product Manager/Product Owner is responsible for leading a critical PSP migration for a retail client, focusing on enhancing online and e-commerce payment experiences. This role requires acting as a subject matter expert to ensure seamless customer payment journeys across digital channels. The position involves managing the product backlog and delivery roadmap while collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize payment processes. The role is based in London and requires a strong background in online payments and e-commerce environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the online payments product backlog and delivery roadmap
  • Lead requirements and delivery for PSP migration, including APIs, integrations, and cutover
  • Define and optimise ecommerce payment journeys (checkout, authorisation, authentication, refunds)
  • Drive improvements in conversion rates, authorisation success, and customer experience
  • Work closely with engineering, PSPs, gateways, and third-party vendors
  • Ensure compliance with SCA/PSD2, 3DS, PCI-DSS, and fraud prevention standards
  • Support UAT, go-live, and ongoing performance optimisation

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Payments Product Owner/Manager focused on online payments
  • Strong track record delivering PSP/gateway migrations in E-commerce environments
  • Deep knowledge of ecommerce payment flows (checkout, tokenisation, recurring payments)
  • Card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
  • Digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay)
  • 3DS/SCA/authentication optimisation
  • Payment decline management and retry logic
  • Settlement, reconciliation, and chargebacks
  • Experience improving checkout conversion and payment success rates

Payments Product Manager/Product Owner/Product Lead

£600-700 per day - Umbrella engagement - 6 month initial engagement - 2-3 Days per week on site in London

Overview

We're seeking an experienced Payments Product Owner to lead a critical PSP migration for a retail client, with a strong focus on online and E-commerce payments. You'll act as the payments SME, ensuring seamless, high-performing customer payment journeys across digital channels.

  • Lead requirements and delivery for PSP migration, including APIs, integrations, and cutover
