Job Title: Oracle EBS DBA Location – Havant initially, Reading is fine, 2 days per week ideally Duration – Until March 2026, likely to be extended Description: EBS DBA Our EBS Database Support team is primarily responsible for supporting and maintaining the Oracle databases and technical stack that underpin Oracle E-Business Suite applications. The team's primary function is to ensure all production databases and applications are available, secure, and performing satisfactorily, in compliance with defined Service Level Agreement (SLAs). You will provide technical support in ensuring the ongoing maintenance of, and develop service improvements to, our core applications. With a level of guidance and support, you will apply your knowledge to the diagnosis and resolution of incidents, problems and in the development of technical solutions to satisfy business requirements. You will be involved in all aspects of incident resolution and root cause analysis as per agreed SLAs. A key part of the role will be to support the creation, review, and maintenance of team documentation. You will also take responsibility for specific compliance activities including audit, vulnerability remediation, DR, and patch management, whilst providing technical support and guidance to other technical teams. Your high level of technical ability and proven level of strong team working, and customer-facing communication skills are clearly essential to this position.

Skills / Experience Comprehensive expert level knowledge of Oracle EBS R12.2 application administration, including installation, configuration, cloning, and upgrades, using Oracle EBS Applications DBA (AD) utilities and other tools to apply patches and system updates. Knowledge of the multi-node EBS environments to administer Concurrent Managers, Parallel Concurrent Processing, and troubleshooting Workflow Mailer/Notification issues. Expert level knowledge of Oracle 19c database administration, maintenance, security implementation, upgrade and patching, database performance tuning, sizing and capacity planning, database backup and recovery on a Unix O/S using RMAN and Oracle export/import utilities, administration, and maintenance to provide backup and disaster recovery. Knowledge of installation, configuration, and maintenance of multi-node Oracle RAC enabled databases, including Oracle ASM and Oracle CRS management. Knowledge of PL/SQL packages, shell, and Perl scripts for task automation, and proactive database monitoring and notification using Oracle OEM Grid Control. Knowledge of administration and maintenance of the Oracle Enterprise Command Center(ECC), OBIEE, Oracle SOA Suite, and Oracle WebLogic Server to support Oracle ERP system integrations. Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, OIC and Autonomous database management advantageous. Experience from a similar support role in supporting business critical systems in a medium/large organization.

Key Accountabilities Diagnose and resolve incidents and problems. Support other team members as appropriate. Working to defined standards, provide support, estimation, design and development input and assurance of new developments to our core applications. Define and provide monitoring and reporting of the supported systems performance. Provide configuration changes to our core applications as deemed necessary. Provide input into, and support, the release and change management processes required to implement technical changes to our core applications. Ensure the quality of the technical application elements of internal projects throughout the development lifecycle. Ensure the validation and verification of technical deliverables through QA and test processes. Provide a focal point for advice, guidance and technical input of own area through, knowledge transfer, one to one workshop, mentoring to other teams as required. Take ownership of tasks required for the effective management of red alert, incident and problem management processes. Provide out of hours support as required and agreed with the Delivery Lead. Provide impact assessment, deployment and regression support of infrastructure support packs and patches Provide input into the definition and documentation of the technical delivery policy, process, standards and documentation templates. Provide vendor liaison support and maintain the relationship with third parties. Create and maintain good working relationships with key contacts. Provide guidance and input into maintaining the Oracle application and database technical stack. Manage access and security of databases.
