Summary: The Non-Functional Testing Engineer role involves driving the definition and testing of non-functional requirements as part of a technology transformation initiative. The position requires collaboration with technical and business stakeholders to ensure clarity and testability of requirements, alongside the execution of testing cycles and documentation of results. Candidates must be based in the UK and are required to work on-site for 8 days a month through an accredited umbrella company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the definition and testing of non-functional requirements (NFRs) as part of the Technology transformation (JAVA, KAFKA, Linux, Cloud, API)
- Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure non-functional requirements are clearly defined and are testable
- Define and articulate the Non-Functional Test Strategy
- Design and execute NFR testing cycles, coordinating efforts with external teams until bottleneck resolution through root cause examination.
- Documenting test results, and compiling results into consolidated high-level reports
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience of in the preparation & execution of Non-Functional Testing, ideally within Financial Services
- Knowledge of non-functional testing including performance, Scalability, reliability, Failover/Disaster Recovery, accessibility testing
- Experience of using testing tools eg Performance Center/LoadRunner, ADS, Selenium, Xray, Splunk
- Are familiar with working within large scale & complex Technology Implementation or change
- Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive non-functional test approach/plans and cases
- Are technically strong and are able to translate requirements towards technical experts at the level of security and/or infrastructure
- Ability to translate test results into understandable language for non-specialists & advice the business, design, infrastructure & development teams on resolution priorities
- Hands on experience of agile Development practices, DevOps pipelines, continuous integration/deployment and test automation
