Summary: The Network Engineer role involves leading significant IT transformation projects, including a Cisco to Palo Alto Firewall upgrade and the installation of fibre broadband. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects including Cisco to Palo Alto Firewall upgrade and fibre broadband installation.
- Act as a third-line escalation point for network incidents and problems.
- Support project delivery and escalated business-as-usual (BAU) activities.
- Ensure stable, performant, and secure network systems for daily operations.
Key Skills:
- Strong capabilities in Palo Alto and CISCO qualifications (CCNA/CCNP).
- Experience with layer 1 to layer 7 end-to-end delivery.
- Enterprise industry experience, ideally within Public Sector or Local Government.
- Experience in Firewall upgrade/replacement from CISCO to Palo Alto.
- Exposure to Cisco WiFi, Cisco DNA, and Cisco ISE.
- Recent experience in telecommunications and fibre broadband projects.
- Familiarity with Infoblox for DNS/DHCP engagement.
- Desirable experience with Juniper MIST.

Opportunity:
A leading corporation that is currently undergoing a huge IT transformation is seeking Network Engineer to lead on a number of exciting projects including a Cisco to Palo Alto Firewall upgrade and end to end installation of fibre broadband.
The chosen Network Engineer must have strong capabilites in Palo Alto, be CISCO qualified (CCNA/CCNP) and have possess layer 1 to layer 7 end to end delivery. Any exposure or uderstanding of Infoblox and experience working witin local authority would be highl desirable.
As a third line escalation point for incidents and problems and change relating to the business' network infrastructure, the Senior Network Engineer key purpose of this role is to support both project delivery and escalated BAU activity by ensuring the business has stable, performant and secure systems from a day to day operational perspective.
Core Technical Experience
- Enterprise industry experience ideally within Public Sector, Local Government or Consultancy is a must have.
- Strong capabilities in Firewall upgrade/replacement from CISCO to Palo Alto
- Exposure to Cisco WiFi, Cisco DNA, Cisc ISE is a must
- Recent capabilites in telcommunication proficiencies and experience rolling out a fibre broadband project.
- Experience of Infoblox to engage with DNS/DHCP would be fantastic
- Juniper MIST experience would be highly desireblae
