Key Responsibilities:

  • Review the existing ACX/MX EVPN design
  • Design a scalable and resilient L2 wholesale model

  • Assess control-plane and MAC scaling implications
  • Validate redundancy and failover behaviour (EVPN-ESI, multihoming)
  • Produce High-Level and Low-Level Design documentation
  • Provide a phased migration / implementation strategy

Key Skills:

  • Strong Juniper MX and ACX experience
  • Deep understanding of EVPN (including ESI / multihoming)

Network Architect - Juniper EVPN / Wholesale L2 Design


Location: (London) - Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to review and evolve an established service provider network.


This is a high-impact architectural engagement focused on introducing a Layer 2 wholesale capability into an existing Juniper-based MPLS/EVPN environment.




About the Environment


Architecture consists of:




  • Multiple L2 supplier services




  • QinQ handoff terminated on Juniper ACX




  • LAGs stretched across ACX devices using EVPN-ESI for multihoming




  • L2 to L3 handoff via VPWS




  • L3 termination on Juniper MX using Dynamic Profiles




  • Tier 1 transit and private interconnects for traffic breakout







The Role


We are looking for a consultant-level architect to:




  • Review the existing ACX/MX EVPN design




  • Design a scalable and resilient L2 wholesale model




  • Define traffic flow and service separation between L2 and L3 services




  • Assess control-plane and MAC scaling implications




  • Validate redundancy and failover behaviour (EVPN-ESI, multihoming)




  • Produce High-Level and Low-Level Design documentation




  • Provide a phased migration / implementation strategy




This is not a BAU operations role. We have strong operational capability in-house. We require deep architectural and service provider design expertise.




Required Experience




  • Strong Juniper MX and ACX experience

  • Experience designing wholesale or carrier L2 services
