Summary: The Data Access Policy Designer role focuses on designing and evolving cloud-native PCF/PCRF/UDR platforms for 5G Standalone, 4G, and 3G services within a major UK mobile network operator. The position involves translating commercial requirements into policy rules and collaborating with various teams to enhance customer experience and revenue. This contract role is expected to last until December 2026, with potential extensions. The working arrangement is hybrid, allowing for flexibility in on-site presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and evolve PCF / PCRF / UDR platforms for 5G SA, 4G and 3G
- Own policy charging design, including integration modelling
- Translate product and commercial requirements into efficient policy rules
- Work closely with Operations, Test, Security, Marketing and Revenue teams
- Operate confidently in a high-pressure, multi-project environment
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with PCF / PCRF policy design
- 5G Standalone architecture knowledge (mandatory)
- Experience working with Oracle policy platforms (or similar)
- Solid understanding of policy charging and control flows
- Telco operator background (core network / packet core)
- Working knowledge of BSS / OCS integrations
- Experience in cloud-native or telco cloud environments

About the role: We are supporting a large UK mobile network operator with a critical replacement hire into their core data and policy control design team . This role is centred on policy charging and access control , contributing to the design of cloud-native PCF / PCRF / UDR platforms supporting 5G Standalone , alongside 4G and 3G data services. You will work on the transition from legacy platforms to telco cloud , shaping policy design, integrations and charging logic that directly impacts customer experience and revenue.
