Summary: The NetApp Storage Engineer role is a contract position based in Milton Keynes, requiring a skilled professional to provide expert support and maintenance for enterprise NetApp storage systems within a healthcare technology organization. The position demands strong hands-on experience with NetApp technologies and the ability to work in a complex enterprise environment. The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days on-site each week, and is expected to last until March 2026. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert support, maintenance, and optimisation of enterprise NetApp storage estates.
- Manage, configure, and troubleshoot ONTAP environments (9.x), including NAS/SAN and storage efficiency features.
- Administer and support NetApp FAS, AFF, and/or ASA systems.
- Implement storage provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Support SnapMirror, SnapVault, and other NetApp data protection and replication technologies.
- Work closely with infrastructure, virtualisation, and backup teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes within ITIL frameworks.
- Contribute to ongoing storage transformation, upgrades, and lifecycle management initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Proven background as a NetApp Storage Engineer in enterprise-scale environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with NetApp ONTAP (administration, troubleshooting, upgrades).
- Deep understanding of NetApp storage hardware (FAS/AFF/ASA-series).
- Experience with NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, and general SAN/NAS principles.
- Familiarity with SnapCenter, SnapMirror, SnapVault, and data protection strategies.
- Knowledge of VMware integration with NetApp storage highly beneficial.
