Summary: The Mobile Applications Architect role is a strategic position focused on defining and governing mobile architecture across various programs and initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Own and define the mobile architecture strategy across programmes and in-flight initiatives
- Provide 12+ month architectural planning, ensuring alignment to wider enterprise roadmaps
- Govern and assure engineering teams, ensuring delivery aligns with approved architecture
- Design and document robust mobile solutions, maintaining architecture artefacts and repositories
- Align mobile platforms with downstream services via REST/GraphQL APIs
- Proactively manage senior stakeholders across business and technology
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of mobile technologies including React Native, Firebase, Instabug
- Knowledge of mobile security patterns (OAuth, jailbreak/root detection, certificate pinning, threat modelling)
- Experience integrating with downstream systems and API ecosystems
- Exposure to Open Banking/Open Finance environments
- Pensions domain knowledge (highly desirable)
- Familiarity with GenAI architectures
- Experience with analytics and engagement tooling such as Adobe Analytics, Braze, Tealium
- Proven strategic and programme-level architecture experience
- Background in engineering or technical delivery, with the ability to hold deep technical conversations
- Experience ensuring governance and architectural compliance across delivery teams
- Strong documentation discipline and experience maintaining architecture artefacts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, confident stakeholder management
