Summary: The role of Community Homelessness Prevention Officer involves providing early intervention and support to residents at risk of homelessness within Central London's Local Authority Housing Services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide early intervention and preventative support to residents at risk of homelessness
  • Manage a complex caseload, progressing cases proactively and independently
  • Work directly with residents in the community, meeting face-to-face and adapting approaches based on individual need
  • Deliver holistic, person-centred support addressing housing, financial, health, family, and wider wellbeing issues
  • Identify early indicators of homelessness risk and take effective preventative action
  • Liaise with residents, colleagues, and partner agencies via email, telephone, and face-to-face contact
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, commissioned services, and voluntary and community sector partners
  • Coordinate multi-agency support to ensure residents receive joined-up, timely assistance
  • Accurately record and document all activity using case management systems and relevant spreadsheets
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, leading all interactions with empathy and understanding
  • Ensure casework and advice comply with homelessness legislation, policies, and local processes

Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Community Homelessness Prevention Officer in the Central London area. You will need to have worked in a similar role within a Local Authority Housing Department, and have experience of the following:
