Summary: As a Systems Administrator, you will be integral to a team focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-grade IT systems, including services, servers, storage, and networks. This role involves managing internal compute clusters that support various functions such as Engineering and Data Science. The position is a 6-month rolling contract with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role and requires hybrid working with three days in the Cambridge office. Candidates must be within an hour's commute of Cambridge to be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade IT systems.
- Manage internal compute clusters supporting Engineering and Data Science functions.
- Run and maintain on-premises data centers.
- Utilize Linux (Ubuntu/Centos) for system administration.
- Manage enterprise storage solutions (SAN/ISCSI).
- Employ automation tools such as Ansible and Foreman.
- Maintain build systems using TeamCity and GitLab.
- Handle IP networking, DNS, and firewalling with a focus on security.
- Develop scripts using Python and Shell.
Key Skills:
- Experience with on-premises data centers.
- Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu/Centos).
- Knowledge of enterprise storage (SAN/ISCSI).
- Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Foreman).
- Experience with build systems (TeamCity/GitLab).

In your role as Systems Administrator, you will become a valued member of a dynamic and responsive team, working to design, implement and maintain enterprise grade IT systems (services, server, storage and network) along with our internal compute clusters, all of which underpin the services used by Engineering, Data Scientists and other functions. This position is a 6 month rolling contract position with the potential option to convert to Perm. It is hybrid working with 3 days required in their Cambridge Based Office. Due to the location we are looking for Candidates that are within an hour commute of Cambridge, anyone who is located further away will not be considered.
