Summary: We are seeking an Azure Infrastructure/Cloud Migration Architect with expertise in Azure and Linux for a contract role focused on leading large-scale migrations from on-premises to Azure. The position involves end-to-end migration processes, including assessment, design, governance, and troubleshooting. The role requires a combination of solution architecture, migration leadership, and technical skills in cloud infrastructure and networking. The position is based in London with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on-prem/public cloud infrastructure assessments using Azure Migrate, shaping the migration approach for complex estates.
  • Drive Azure solutioning for large-scale migrations, ensuring coverage across business, application, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Own Azure strategy and stakeholder management, including "value for money" considerations (TCO/ROI) and governance.
  • Design and deliver Azure Landing Zones based on a clear understanding of the customer infrastructure landscape.
  • Produce target architecture deliverables: Azure service architecture diagrams, HLD/LLD, plus BoM/licensing/pricing inputs.
  • Execute and support on-prem to Azure migrations and provide deep troubleshooting across Azure + Linux (compute, networking, IO, clusters, memory).
  • Provide strong Linux platform capability: storage/filesystems/LVM, patching & upgrades, backup/restore, services/daemons, DNS, NFS/SMB, Apache TLS, Postfix, and automation/scripting.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and performance tuning (eg, HAProxy/Varnish, system tuning), while guiding other engineers and resolving complex incidents.

You will lead large-scale on-prem to Azure migrations end-to-end - from assessment and landing zone design through target architecture (HLD/LLD), governance, and hands-on troubleshooting across Azure and Linux. This role combines solution architecture, migration delivery leadership, and deep technical capability in cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, and security.
