Summary: The Lead Business Architect role involves supporting a major digital transformation initiative for a leading financial services client in the Midlands. The position requires extensive experience in Business Architecture, focusing on the development of operating model artefacts and stakeholder engagement. The role is hybrid, requiring one day per week onsite in Warwickshire, and is classified as inside IR35. The contract duration is between 6 to 12 months with a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Commercial Transformation Roadmap, including ongoing management with Group Change and Enterprise Architecture.
- Deliver the Commercial Business Plan and lead Business Architecture elements for strategic commercial capability areas.
- Support end-to-end design activities in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture.
- Develop the Digital Strategy for the Commercial business in partnership with the Head of Digital.
- Lead aspects of Business Architecture maturity, including Enterprise Operating Design.
Key Skills:
- Strong expertise in Business Architecture and development of Operating Model artefacts.
- Ability to work effectively at all levels and influence consensus.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills for technical concepts.
- Experience in defining divisional-level roadmaps and business transformations.
- Experience in financial services, insurance, investments, or pensions environments.

Lead Business Architect
Duration: 6 - 12 months
Location: Warwickshire/Remote - One day per week onsite (Wednesdays)
Rate: £900.00 Per Day - Inside IR35 via Umbrella
Our leading financial services client in the Midlands requires a highly experienced Lead Business Architect, to support their largest-ever digital transformation initiative, focusing on the following deliverables -
Deliverables:
- Deliverable 1: Commercial Roadmap and sequencing - with Group Change and Ent Arch (ongoing management). Manage Commercial Transformation Roadmap which sets out the sequencing of capability and operating model needs to deliver against the Commercial Growth ambition, covering all elements contributing to Commercial Transformation
- Deliverable 2: Deliver Commercial Business Plan as per their milestones for Bus Arch: Input into the program/R3 planning and target product model design. Lead the Business Architecture elements of Group Change process for the Strategic commercial capability areas relevant EIA's and Business Architecture artefacts for successful transition through stage gates, along with trade off views for approaches
- Deliverable 3: Support Commercial e2e design activity - with Ent Arch (up to Q3)
- Deliverable 4: Digital Strategy for Commercial business - working with Head of Digital (H2)
- Deliverable 5: Lead on certain aspects of Business Architecture maturity including Enterprise Operating Design
Essential Experience:
- Strong expertise and extensive experience in Business Architecture and in the development of Operating Model artefacts.
- A team player able to work effectively at all levels of the organisation with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, combined with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people.
- Experience of defining and delivering divisional-level roadmaps and solutions and of applying skills to business transformations across the business change lifecycle process.
- Experience of working within a financial services, insurance, investments and/or pensions environment.
